Richland Resonance Choir
The Richland High School Choral Program is a dynamic and growing community of student musicians committed to artistic excellence, collaboration, and personal growth through music. Under the direction of Sheila L. Ramsey, the program serves students in grades 7–12 across both performance ensembles and general music classes, providing opportunities for singers of all experience levels to develop their voices and musicianship.
Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, RHS Choir students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and discipline through rigorous daily rehearsals, performances, and festival participation. The program proudly earned a Superior (I) rating in Sight-Reading and Excellent (II) rating in Performance at the Central State Performance Assessment, an achievement that reflects both the musical growth and focused commitment of its students.
In addition to state assessment, choir members have represented Richland High School at prestigious events including the Jackson State University Song Festival, Alcorn State University Choral Festival, the HUB City Festival in Hattiesburg, MS and the Riverland Choral Festival in Pearl, MS. These experiences provide students with meaningful exposure to collegiate-level music-making while reinforcing high standards of performance and professionalism.
The RHS Choral Program emphasizes not only vocal technique and performance quality, but also accountability, teamwork, and confidence. Students are challenged to engage deeply with music literacy, sight-reading, and expressive performance, preparing them for success both within and beyond the classroom.
Whether performing on stage, in the community, or in adjudicated festivals, the Richland Resonance Choir consistently embodies pride, excellence, and a commitment to growth.
Show Choir
The Richland High School Royal Rangers Show Choir is an exciting new performance program coming to Richland for the 2026–2027 school year! Featuring both the high school Royal Rangers and junior high RHS Lite, the program is designed to give students the chance to sing, dance, perform, and represent Richland with pride while building confidence, friendships, and school spirit along the way.
Students involved in the program will have opportunities to:
- Grow as vocalists and performers
- Learn choreography and stage movement
- Build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Perform at school and community events
- Participate in local and regional competitions
- Become more involved in the Fine Arts community
The goal of the Royal Rangers program is to create a fun, supportive environment where students can connect, grow, and shine both on and off the stage.
Theater
RHS Curtain Call

RHS Curtain Call a growing theater troupe at Richland High School that’s all about creativity, teamwork, and having a great time while putting on incredible shows. We’re in our third year of bringing productions to life, and we’re proud to be a part of this diverse and supportive community.
Led by Mrs. Hannah Elkins, RHS Curtain Call gives students a chance to explore all things theater, whether you’re interested in acting, tech, or just learning how everything comes together behind the scenes. Our productions range from comedies to dramas, and we love telling stories that everyone can connect with. No matter where you come from, there’s a spot for you in our troupe.
The best part about RHS Curtain Call is that we’re more than just a group of performers—we’re a family. We support each other, push each other to do our best, and most importantly, we have fun! Whether you're here for the first time or you’ve been with us since the beginning, there’s always room to grow and create something amazing together.
